
The STRING-DUO - Halaf – Langheim
The STRING-DUO violin and viola Halaf-Langheim, duo of a married couple was founded in 2001 in Vienna and was brought to European attention by the conductor Christopher Hogwood. Their concerts brought them already to Austria, Germany, England, Italy, Israel, Holland and the United States, to the prestigious halls as there are the AUDITORIUM DI MILANO, the CARNEGIE HALL WEILL RECITAL HALL and Radio transmissions in RAI Radio3 and various broadcasting systems in Israel. Known composers – Riccardo Jehoshua Moretti (Italy), Ella Milch-Sheriff (Israel), Gil Shohat (Israel), Ronen Shapira (Israel) andJohn Rose (USA) – dedicated compositions to the STRING-DUO
Halaf-Langheim.
Except their STRING-DUO activities this two musicians appeared also in other
chamber music groups with concerts at the Wiener Konzerthaus, Wiener
Musikverein, Alte Oper Frankfurt and the ORF (Austrian Broadcasting
Corporation).
Currently they co-operate with the orchestras of La Scala, Filarmonica della
Scala, Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale RAI (Italian Broadcasting Corporation)
and the Symphonica Toscanini (Lorin Maazel).
Christoph Langheim was the principal viola of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano G. Verdi chosen by the conductor Riccardo Chailly, where he was presented in many radio transmissions also as soloist. Lately he co-operated as principal viola with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
Hagit Halaf was for a long period the violinist of the Timna Brauer & Eli Meiri
Ensemble - a Jewish vocal music ensemble – and has toured and performed
in this context in many concert halls, TV and radio stations throughout Europe.
As soloist she gave her debut with the European Philharmonic Orchestra in
Paris.
